In 1993, as typical Colombians, Mrs. Consuelo Carver and her family decide to prepare daily arepas for home consumption. The culture and way of life in the United States made them realize that for the majority of Colombians it was really difficult to prepare their arepas daily. This is when they decided to start making arepas for our friends and neighbors. A year later, Arepas La Cosecha was already known by almost all of the Latin community in Gwinnett, Fulton, and Dekalb Counties in Georgia. It was at this point were she was pushed to think about creating something different for the business. Arepas La Cosecha has been present in the Hispanic market in Georgia for more than 12 years. It has been well recognized in the Hispanic community in Georgia as a product of excellent quality. At the beginning of 2006, Consuelo decided to sell her company to a new Hispanic family. It is now the new owner’s goal to get the arepa to be known by the American community as a product leader in the market.
